August 25, 2020
Every year, IESC recognizes individuals whose dedication and service have truly made an impact on the lives and livelihoods of people around the world. The Tarek Nabhan International Achievement Award was established in 2013 to recognize staff members in the field who go above and beyond their normal job responsibilities to achieve excellence. The award is named after Tarek Nabhan, in honor of his 31 years of service to IESC.
For 2019, IESC recognized Loc Nguyen, the Finance & Administration Team Lead on the USAID Linkages for Small and Medium Enterprises (USAID LinkSME) project in Vietnam. Since the
project started in 2018, Loc has worked tirelessly to ensure USAID LinkSME’s technical teams are able to achieve results and ensure compliance in their activities. Through her dedicated management of the project’s accounting, human resources, procurement, and logistics teams, USAID LinkSME is able to operate smoothly and implement technical activities effectively. She ensures the project is compliant with regulations, that the project’s funds are being spent appropriately, and that her team operates with excellence and integrity. Loc is a leader in establishing and sharing best practices in project management. Her solution-oriented approach to problem solving makes her the go-to person in the USAID LinkSME office. She goes above and beyond on a daily basis and is a resource not only for the other members of the field team, but also the home office program management and finance teams. Loc is a committed leader and USAID expert, and the USAID LinkSME project has benefited tremendously from her hard work and dedication.
