Strengthening Plant Health Monitoring from the Field to Post-Harvest
To improve the safety and quality of agricultural goods being imported into the U.S., and other markets as applicable, IESC works with farmers, packinghouses, and laboratories to strengthen plant health monitoring both in the field and post-harvest.
At the farm-level, we work with producers to enhance pest management practices, such as rotating crop protection molecules, using biological controls, and employing field record management aligned with U.S. Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) requirements. We also strengthen the capacity of plant health and agricultural production professionals to better identify pests, introducing new laboratory analyses and stronger diagnostic processes.
By improving pest diagnostics and strengthening on-farm management practices, IESC is helping to sustain healthier crops, reduce production risks, and support agricultural systems better prepared to meet international market requirements.
