March 6, 2013
IESC’s long-time vice president of global operations, Tarek M. Nabhan, has departed IESC to pursue opportunities with a family operation in trade and marketing between the U.S. and Egypt. Tarek, who is known as ‘the heart and soul of IESC,’ will be sorely missed and remembered for his positive attitude, magnetic personality, calming influence, willingness to lend his expertise to those in need and his commitment to the highest standards of ethics. During his career with IESC, Tarek spent over 20 years in Egypt managing the delivery of more than 2,000 technical assistance projects to over 1,300 firms, associations and other institutions. At IESC headquarters for the past 10 plus years, he has been responsible for the delivery of a wide range of services to private firms and public institutions, including training programs, technical assistance, business linkages & trade facilitation, marketing assistance, grants programs, trade show/trade missions, consulting assistance, quality assurance, and venture development. Tarek has developed, launched and managed programs around the world in countries including Egypt, Lebanon, Jordan, Tunisia, Morocco, Macedonia, Serbia, Cyprus, Bahrain and Iraq.
On Tuesday, February 26, the IESC family gathered to demonstrate our appreciation for his strong commitment to fulfilling IESC’s mission around the world and to thank him for being such an esteemed colleague and loyal friend. Chairman, Don Taggart, expresses his gratitude to Tarek with these words: ‘From your many years in the field to your more recent work leading IESC projects around the world at headquarters, you have set the standard for excellence, dedication, leadership, and mentoring many younger staff members. Your contributions are legendary, and the stories about your successes will continue to inspire us all well after your departure’.
We wish Tarek all the best in his new endeavors, and we’re looking forward to crossing paths with him in the future!
