It is with great sadness that we share the news that Bill McBride, who joined our Board as General Counsel in early 2012, passed away on December 22nd. In the time Bill was on the IESC Board as our General Counsel he did a great deal to help further IESC’s mission of improving conditions in some of the world’s poorest places.
At the time of his passing, Bill was serving as a managing partner at Barnett, Bolt, Kirkwood, Long & McBride, a Tampa, Florida law firm that he joined in 2003. He will be remembered for his down-to-earth style combined with a sharp intellect and energetic nature. Given his background and experience, Bill could have done many other things with his time, but the fact that he chose to help IESC by lending very valuable advice, illustrates his commitment to improving the lot of others. As former Democratic candidate for Governor of the state of Florida, Bill will leave behind a strong legacy. We were fortunate that he was kind enough to have a bit of this legacy rub off on IESC. We join his many friends and colleagues all over the world in thanking him for his contributions to IESC and expressing our deepest condolences to his family.
