IESC Commemorates 60 Years of Impact

As the calendar turns to 2024, we are thrilled to commemorate the 60th anniversary of IESC’s founding in 1964. While much has changed throughout the world during these sixty years, what has not changed is IESC’s focus on sustainable economic development and making a lasting difference in the lives of the people and communities we serve.
We were founded by a group of American business leaders, entrepreneurs, and philanthropists—chiefly David Rockefeller—who believed that helping to foster private sector growth and innovation can lift countries, people, and communities out of poverty. Since 1964, we have put that belief to action, delivering lasting solutions across 139 countries.
Our long legacy of strengthening developing economies is matched by our vision for the next generation: a world with economic opportunity for all, where people and communities thrive.
While we are humbled to honor our impact over the past six decades, we are committed to making an even greater impact in this new era of IESC’s long and storied history.
The IESC of today—which is as capable, dynamic, and impactful as ever—is poised to meet the complex challenges facing the world today and in the future.
