IESC’s 2022 Annual Report

IESC is pleased to share our 2022 Annual Report, which highlights our work in catalyzing private sector growth and employment—work that has helped people to improve their lives throughout the economically developing world.

2022 was a historic year for IESC. We launched a new strategic plan for 2022-2025, which outlines our organizational objectives to further expand impact for our program participants in line with our mission. We also selected a new name for IESC that took effect in 2023. The new name—Improving Economies for Stronger Communities—embraces our history while reflecting who we are and what we do today. These milestones have positioned IESC to continue delivering meaningful impact for those we serve for the years ahead, including entrepreneurs, jobseekers, businesses, cooperatives, financial institutions, and governments.

This report includes highlights of our impact, from building the resiliency of small businesses to support Sri Lanka’s growing tourism industry and expanding access to finance and agricultural employment for Kenyan youth, to improving the safety of agricultural exports from Ghana and the Dominican Republic and equipping young Georgians with in-demand skills in emerging industries, to name a few.

The results we delivered in 2022 would not have been possible without the efforts of our dedicated staff, partners, our funders and donors, Board of Directors, and valued volunteers and consultants. Thank you for your efforts and continued support as we pursue our vision of a world with economic opportunity for all, where people and communities thrive.
