Ministry of Agriculture announces adoption of the electronic phytosanitary certificate (ePhyto/GeNs) in the Dominican Republic
The Ministry of Agriculture, with the support of the United States Government through its USDA-funded Trade Safe (TraSa) project, announced the adoption of the electronic phytosanitary certificate (ePhyto/GeNs) in the Dominican Republic. The ePhyto system helps to facilitate transactions through electronic certificates, replacing traditional paper certificates. This innovative tool will improve the flow of trade of agricultural goods as it optimizes the security of official communications between countries, speeds up the procedures required for both the import and export of plant products, and reduces costs by simplifying complex processes related to the exchange of electronic data.
