On October 18, 2016, IESC's USAID-funded Assistance in Building Afghanistan by Developing Enterprises Program brought together more than 100 business representatives and local government officials in Mazar-e-Sharif for an exhibition aimed at increasing sales of Afghan products.

The expo provided an opportunity for Afghan manufacturing companies to exhibit their products, learn about one another, and network with government offices that work with the manufacturing sector. ABADE designed the exhibition, in part, to acquaint local businesses accustomed to seeking products and services from other provinces--or even other countries--with products and services available locally.

IESC began implementing the ABADE Program in 2012. To date, the five-year, $105 million program has developed investment partnerships with more than 297 Afghan small and medium-sized enterprises, helping them reduce risks involved with business expansion, sustain growth, and create new jobs.
